(Currently, Research Department)
Graduate of Hiroshima University (Faculty of Engineering, Cluster4)
Job details
I am involved in creating simulations for crash tests in a condition where the seats are installed in a car. I create simulation programs according to the tests and conditions for those tests discussed with the designers. Simulation programs are calculated in the computer and the mechanism is elucidated using the calculation results. Once it is elucidated, I make proposals to the designers for a better structure.
What do you find rewarding about your job?
Delivery date is the key in designing. So for designers to be able to design by the delivery date, we as analysts would have to respond promptly to designers and support them for a smooth designing process. In the past, there was a product in development that was behind schedule. By elucidating the mechanism with the simulation I’ve proposed, the development started to progress again and I felt a sense of accomplishment at that time.
Advice to students?
The most important key is to find the field you’re interested in, head straight and become a professional. If there is a field you love, I believe you can pursue that path towards your goal you set. In the field of science, the forefront is separated into designers and researchers. I personally enjoy supporting others so I decided to take the researcher path. It is difficult to decide your career but I am certain you can find something you want to do, so open your eyes and don’t miss out on opportunities ahead.
