What is your current job?

Micron provides high performance memories and storage solutions, and I work as an engineer, where I analyze data to improve the non-defective rate. More specifically, when there is an issue such as a defect or malfunction, I analyze various parameter data within production lines and study causes and countermeasures. Although I don’t have the chance to see the actual production, if the numbers show improvement as a result, that means that more products can be produced thereby contributing to the company as well as the society, and I am grateful to be part of it.

What do you value in terms of research environment?

There is a diverse population with different gender, age and ethnicity at Micron. Japanese people are not very good at expressing their opinions but discussions are actively held here, stimulated by the foreign members who don’t hesitate to speak up. In order to improve the non-defective rate, discussions with colleagues and support from other groups are essential. We put importance on teamwork atmosphere where we always respect each other and pair up individual strengths. I myself would like to improve my knowledge, techniques and leadership skills to become a more advanced-level researcher and the environment here makes it possible to achieve this.
