Doctoral Program Enrollment Fee Exemption for Women Researchers
Hiroshima University provides financial support for women researchers who possess a master’s degree, and who are currently not conducting research but wish to resume their research at the University, by exempting them from the enrollment fee when they take and pass the entrance examination for any one of the University’s doctoral programs. If you are considering applying for this enrollment fee exemption, please refer to the application guidelines below.
1. Eligible Applicants
Full-time employees of the Diversity Program’s Lead Organization (Hiroshima University), Collaborating Organizations (Mazda Motor Corporation, Delta Kogyo Co., Ltd., and the International Development Center of Japan), and Member Organizations of the Industry-Academia-Government Council on Promoting Diversity (collectively, “Participating Organizations”) or their spouses/partners are eligible to apply for this enrollment fee exemption.

3. Eligible Enrollment Dates
Those who enroll on April 1, 2025 or October 1, 2025 are eligible to have their entrance fee exempted.
4. Application Method
Applicants need to prepare the below listed documents (1) through (4) and submit them to the Diversity Program Secretariat (located on the 4th floor of the Graduate School of Education’s K Building).
Applicants might be asked to provide additional documentation as required during the screening process.
(1) Diversity Program Enrollment Fee Exemption Application Document (Form 1)
(2) Resume/CV
(3) Master’s degree certificate and a copy of their academic transcripts
(4) Approval Letter/Form from the head of affiliated organization (Form 2)
※The spouse/partner (the definition of “partner” is based on the Policies and Guidelines at Hiroshima University for Respecting Gender and Sexual Diversity) of a full-time employee of a Participating Organization does not need to submit this Approval Letter/Form.
(5) Documentation which proves relationship
※It is necessary to submit such documentation only if the partner of a full-time employee of a Participating Organization applies.
5. Application Deadline
Applications must be received prior to the entrance examination application deadline for the graduate school of which the examination the applicant wishes to take.
・Submitting in-person: Must be received by 5:00 pm on the day of the application deadline.
・Submitting by postal mail: Must be sent via registered express mail and be received by 5:00 pm on the day of the application deadline.
※Please contact the CAPWR office prior to the application deadline if the applicant is unable to prepare the application documents in time, or if they are unable to bring them to the CAPWR office due to unavoidable reasons such as hospitalization or an extended business trip.
※Please note that applications will not be accepted after the deadline.
6. Notification of the Application Result
Applicants will be notified of the result of their application prior to the starting date of the admission procedures for the graduate school of which the entrance examination they take and pass.
※If the application for the enrollment fee exemption is not approved, the applicant should pay the enrollment fee during the admission procedures period for the graduate school that they were accepted to.
