Model Development

Working with the Collaborating Organizations and Member Organizations of the Industry-Academia-Government Council on Promoting Diversity, the Hiroshima University Research Center for Diversity and Inclusion is spearheading an effort to develop model initiatives for creating diverse research environments. A team of experts from multiple academic disciplines (including psychology, sociology, literature, and business administration) has been formed to carry out research and approach issues from a multifaceted perspective.

Research Process Used in Model Development

Model Development and Communication

• Develop models for initiatives for realizing a diverse research environment based on the expertise gained from research at a broad range of organizations.
• Study the potential for applying those models not only at the organizations participating in the program, but also in other fields and industries and in regions outside Hiroshima. Then communicate the findings broadly both in Japan and overseas.

Measurement and Communication of the Effectiveness of the Program

• Conduct questionnaire surveys at organizations before and after the implementation of the program to verify the effectiveness of its initiatives, for example by assessing changes in awareness.
• Use the results of research as data on which to base improvements to initiatives, third-party evaluations, etc.
