Capacity Development in Women Researchers’ Research Activities
Women Researcher Incentive Awards
To support research by women researchers, the program has established research funds of up to 1 million yen for young women researchers (researchers serving at the rank of associate professor or below) who have not secured outside funding. During FY2017, this program received 27 applications, and 6 of those were chosen to receive funds.
Female Researcher Joint Research Subsidy Program
To foster the development of women research leaders, the program has established research funds of up to 1 million yen for exceptional joint research led by women researchers. During FY2017, this program received 46 applications, and 16 of those were chosen to receive funds.
Research Skill Improvement and Research Leader Training
The program offered a range of training programs to female researchers who work at the Collaborating Organizations and Member Organizations of the Industry-Academia-Government Council on Promoting Diversity.

Exchanges for Women Researcher from Different Fields and Positions
The program provides opportunities for women researchers of diverse backgrounds to meet and exchange views. These sessions serve as opportunities to develop networks that transcend the boundaries of academic disciplines and organizational positions as well as to spur new joint research by women researchers.
